About
Jose “Jochy” Rodriguez is a Puerto Rican professional musician and passionate painter whose love of art as an expression of the soul permeates through his work. He was trained in the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, where he obtained Bachelors’ Degree, in music education and trumpet. During his 40 years of carreer as a proffesional trumpet payer, he has played and recorded with many Latin music and "salsa" well known artists like Bobby Valentin, Willie Rosario, Jerry Rivera, Ismael Miranda, Ismael Rivera, and many more.
“Jochy” has been recognized for his improvisational skills, in particular as a jazz player. Jochy has recorded with different groups like Clave Tres, Tropical People, Tito de Gracia, Jibaro Jazz, and has played in events with artists like Claudio Rodriti, Freddy Hobart, Arturo Sandoval, Michael Mossema, Eddie Gomez, Hilton Ruiz, and Bob Mitzer. Jochy Roriguez has been a music professor for the past 25 years, and for several years he was a music professor at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, where he taught harmony and improvisation among other matters. Jochy Rodriguez offers music lessons at all levels, and he has trained several applicants for music programs at different universities.
Jochy Rodriguez offers services as a composer, arranger, recording artist, music professor, and his paintings often having elements of his native Puerto Rico, and of music are available in the website store. He also offers live music services for all occasions playing with very talented fellow musicians and friends who share his love for music.
